Why you might want to consider microneedling!

Hey Curlfriends! I am super excited to update you on my skin journey. Do you remember my first blog, what my skin looked like?

acne

I have decided to take drastic measures. Ever since I came off of Curology, my skin has had its ups and downs. (More downs than up. ) I regret ever getting off. I have suffered from cystic acne, hyperpigmentation, blackheads, whiteheads, and indentations.

I decided that I would try out a facial and see how that would help me. I googled “fresh face facials” near me and the first shop to pop up with a high rating was Beautiful Skin By Carmen. Here is where I met Carmen. She right away showed deep concern for the condition of my skin and decided to come up with a plan for me on how I can find improvement.

I first started with an intense vitamin C peel and extraction. Right away I noticed results. The treatment I received was so welcoming. This is the first place I walked into that did not judge my skin. I didn’t feel the need to look down at the ground, I felt confident knowing my skin was in good hands. After a few more sessions, my skin was showing massive improvement. This is when she introduced me to the idea of microneedling. She told me it would address ALL of my skin concerns, including large pores, the “chicken skin under my eyes, and the yellow puss filled pockets on my chin area.

Now this isn’t the first time I’ve ever heard of the procedure, but it was definitely the first time I’ve considered it because I am afraid of needles. I thought to myself, “Why not?”

I went in for my first appointment. She cleansed my face and gave me a vitamin C peel. Then she numbed my skin, so I wouldn’t feel anything. Honestly, I could have done it without the numbing cream, but to calm my nerves, it was best for the both of us. She took her needling tool and began pressing into my face. It sounded as if I was getting a tattoo, but I can compare the feeling of getting shave with a battery operated razor. The whole process took about 90 minutes, but it was so relaxing. If I did not go live, I would have fell asleep.

When I was done, my face was super plumped, hydrated, and GLOWY! OMG my face had not looked like this in so long. She gave me my after care products and instructions. It has been a week now and I have had no new breakouts. My skin is brighter and tighter. Finally many of my pimples and scars have continued to fade out. I can’t wait until my next session!

Excuse the dry lips. This was the next morning and I wanted to make sure you saw my skin untouched.

Still untouched skin, look at that glow! Update: That scar next to my mole is almost gone.

My face is improving in texture and scars. Makeup went on so smooth.

My closing thoughts on Microneedling:

  • If you are tired of skin struggles, try it! It is perfectly safe and gives you a peace of mind.
  • I literally have no bad comments about it except for not trying it sooner.
  • I love, love, love it! My skin is so smooth and I barely had a breakout since.
  • You do need at least 3 sessions, however, the results are PERMANENT!

As a person who has suffered from hormonal, adult acne, it isn’t easy. However, you deserve to treat your skin at least once a month. If you cannot afford every one or two months, try once per season and invest in good skin care. Luckily for you, if you are in the Orlando or Windermere area, they offer a membership service which gives you great discounts on services and products! I have saved so much money by taking the chance.

Don’t you deserve fresh skin too?
